Amy Smart has been a model, actress, and former American. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modelling profession in Italy. The first time she acted was in the 1996 TV production Her Costly Affair. After a difficult fight, she landed a role in the 'Starship Troopers' series the film Starship Troopers. It was very difficult for her to make the transition from modelling to acting as the models werent usually thought of as actors, and they were usually assigned smaller roles that were insignificant. Amy did not give up. She made her way to greater roles, starting in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. She then ventured into the main roles for the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy was recognized after more than 10 years of trying. Amy went on to star in major movies including the Crank Series opposite Jason Statham, and Shameless.
