Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's story combines the football scholarship of his parents and a commitment in the local community. In the first place Selmon was born by Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie. They lived on an agricultural property near Eufala in Oklahoma as the eldest of the nine children they had. The second football was that he is the youngest of three brothers to play with Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. In 1973, Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was the best lineman in across the country. He won two championships and the score was 32-1-1 over his three seasons as Oklahoma's starter. In 1975, he was awarded his third scholarship and was recognized as the National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon obtained his diploma in education. Fourth year of the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours each week on volunteer work. After college, he moved in Tampa and played for nine years for the Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro three times. Then he started his professional career. In 1988, while working as an account liaison officer for First Florida Bank of Tampa, he worked with Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no surprise that the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated him as one of the most prominent young men across the nation. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch larger and weighing 256 pounds in college as a player, captained his team throughout 1975. In 1993 he joined at the University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. In 1988, Selmon was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. He also made the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor that made the award.
